Computer virus/ adware Help!?!?
i do not have an antivirus program yet, but the other day I downloaded a file that contained a malicious file i ran the file and now I get random pop-ups on my computer ever once in a while. Can I still buy antivirus software and get rid of the malicious file. Any software suggestions or help?

you can download free trials I use Kaspersky http://www.kaspersky.com/trials if you need any help leave a comment
AVG is good (and free), Avast (http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html ) is good (and free). No need to buy antivirus software.
And yes, you can install one after the computer is infected.
