I am frustrated, I have been infected with a Trojan Conhook, & WINTRATBHO.. I have tried every tool available. I personally would like to sue this company for my time & frustration & its attempt to "Blackmail" us into buying Their product to remove the virus THEY Installed.

I personally feel these types of Malware companies that force people to buy & use their software should be accountable for the destruction, frustration, time & effort used to get rid of THEIR worms & viruses. I’d love to join a Class action lawsuit.
i have a PC computer right now that i use for everyday stuffs but recently i have been thinking about getting an apple for my college work, because it seems like my current one is too big/heavy to be carrying to school all the time and am liking the small portability of apple and the fact it doesnt have virus (i think?).
what do you think i should do, buy the apple or continue using the PC? am confused about it. apart from the heaviness part, any other good reasons to switch or stay? thanks!

My laptop has had this Virus for some time now..And i can’t figure out what the hell to do with it.
I Don’t wanna have to buy some Crap for it to make it better i’ve spent enough money on that.
I cannot connect to wireless internet or anything, can’t even system restore. There must be something i can do to get rid of whatever it is some way using just my laptop.
Someone have any good info?
I hve got so many viruses on my new laptop and now i need to wipe it clean and start again.
I have backed up all my music, photos and school work but now I need make sure i use the recovery disk properly.
I’ve never had to do this.
Do i just put it in and boot from dvd drive? I want it fully cleared so i can start again with virus protection from the start.
If no one knows how to help with this problem. Can someone please tell me if i am able to format the hard drive without putting vista back on? so I can buy a new copy and install it the normal way? Or maybe I could install XP instead…

MY LAPTOP IS SO SLOW ,,,100% USED OF CPU EVEN THOUGH I DO NOT RUN ANY PROGRAM

When I used a program to read how much of my 495 mb sdram is currently being used by the programs i have running in the background of my windows xp.
It showed that about 80% of my ram is currently being occupied by programs running in the background. Is this too much?
My computer is "stucky, not smooth" lately. I’ve checked with spybot and ad-aware there’s no spyware on my laptop. Also ran anti-virus and there’s no virus. I’ve cleaned my harddrive and registry with CCleaner and Ashampoo win optimizer. Lately, happened couple of days, i couldn’t even use my web browers[IE & firefox] to visit any websites! though i know i am connected online with my isp.
Could the 80% ram usage be the source of the problem? Also harddisk is 56Gb in total and now only about 6 gb freespace left. I’m running on Intel M processor 1.6 GHz. win XP sp3. Had the laptop for 6 years.
[side note: system went 'dead froze' several times [about 20? ] over the course of my 6 years usage. whenever that happens i just had to unplugged the power chord to turn off system abruptly without going thru proper ‘ turn off ‘ button in windows. Also had a few very hot summers so laptop couldn’t stand the heat so it auto ‘turned off’ by itself. though now bought the laptop fan cooler. Not sure if these conditions will damage the physical hardware of the system, but i hope it doesn’t…..]
What are your suggestions?

i bought my laptop 6 mths ago from new, i stupidly used it on net without anti virus software now istalled norton and it says i have this trojan, i cannot connect to net wirelessly now and system restore won’t work, i don’t have a clue bout pc’s so what do i do? can i re-install windows to resolve everything?
I bought a acer laptop back in August . I have been getting on the internet mostly at work on free guest wireless. I had norton installed on computer got a virus norton didnt get all of the virus off so I had to put my laptop in the shop cost 90 bucks and they just reinstalled windows vista. They then put avast free virus program on computer. My question is should I go back to using free wireless guest you don’t have to have a password to get on… At my dads house on his computer he has wireless and i use my laptop there and enter a password first time to get on then after that can always get on… Let me know whats the safe thing to do… would it be better to use my laptop at dads house with wireless instead of guest wireless… I remember when I first used guest wireless it said other people could view your computer are you sure you want to do this at the time I said yes and within about 3 months got a virus….
I bought a laptop around four months ago and over the past week it has had 100% CPU usage, does anyone know how i can fix this?

ok, so i bought a laptop from a friend for 40 bucks. it is an very old ibm r40 think pad. so after about a week a virus corrupted. I used the backed up version of xp that it comes with but after installing i realized that most of the drivers are either gone or not installed. i cant use my mouse and the pad is broken. does anyone know how i can install all the drivers and get it back to normal. also the wifi and ethernet drivers are gone as well so i cant access the web on it either.
also how do you install drivers?
it keeps popping up and will not let me do anything it pretending to be an anti-virus protector and trying to make me buy it i get use the web system restore was so hard to get to and when i finally did i wont work a bunch of different things pop up and when i try to go online it just a viagra ad or something else please help me i had to create another user that’s how im able to type this. i don’t want to lose all my music and files i cant acces them from here
How do I completely delete the old anti-virus before installing a new one?
I’ve removed the older anti-virus from my laptop through "remove program" option in the control panel. However, when I tried to install the new anti-virus using the installation disc I’ve just bought, it stated that the old anti-virus had not been removed yet. I’ve rechecked so many times but it didn’t work. The system requirements of my laptop are fine and compatible. So, what was wrong and how can I fix it?

I bought a used laptop that had an antivirus software in it already.Every time I check the date it expres it says the same day I log on except next year.Like When I checked it on August it was supposed to expire august 2010.Now that I checked on Dec 2009 it says it now expires Dec 2010.Is this common cause I was getting ready to get a free antivirus once this one expired.
It’s CA Anti-Virus
This has been going on for a While Now with My Older Gateway Laptop 7215GX From The Point i Turn it on The fans kick in on high and Hot Air Just comes out the back. When it boots its slower than it used to be ( i have no viruses and i recently had to put in another HDD in) but it still runs slow and hot. Its been through a lot and i wounder if something may have gotten knocked out. Every time i check The CPU Temp is always at 140F And either goes up but never goes down even When its been off for a while. Its bugging Me Its very slow even though i have put upgrades in it. Like i said it never used to be this slow I also have bought a Laptop Pad to keep it off the ground i have done everything to keep it off the ground and carpet I have Cleaned the dust out and Still no luck If there anything i can do to cool it down ?

Virus Trouble or Sluggish PC?
I have an inspiron E1505 and anm comsidering selling it. It is infected so it my be cheaper to buy a new one rather than fix it up. If i erased all of the hardrive, would it get the virus off and then sell it. Or should i keep the hardrive after removing it. How much would it be worth without hardrive vs. erased? It is used 2 years and has a new screen.
I have a dell latitude d600. I recently updated my drivers from dell.com I called the computer store that I bought my laptop from to make sure everything inside was dell and they said everything was. I entered my info at dell.com and it gave me a list of updated drivers to download. I downloaded them and now I have a few problems that I do not know anything about. I do not want to go to the store I bought it from because not only did they rip me off, but they also suck really really bad. So will someone please help me?

Now here is the list of problems that I have found(so far):
Under device manager the following say that no drivers have been installed:
Direct Memory Access
Numeric Data Processor
At first I had a problem with the Generic CardBus Controller, but I rolled back the driver and now the error message has disappeared. Does this mean I can delete the file(s) for the updated driver from dell since I rolled it back? How do I know which one it is?
The only other problem I have is the fact that my computer kind of runs like a damn turtle. I use AVG free edition, Spyware Doctor and Comodo Firewall. My Windows XP firewall is also still on. Spyware Dr finds many things that AVG does not, but I do not use the anti-virus portion of Spyware Dr. I snagged a free version of Spyware Dr, but it did not include the anti-virus portion so I use AVG for that. I really do not think I have much on my computer. It isn’t a super computer or anything. Just your basic browse the web and download movies/music kinda thing. I know movies can take up a lot of space, but could they really slow my computer down so much? I scan with Spyware Dr and AVG everyday. I scan with Spyware Dr pretty much every time I use the web. It always comes up with cookie infections which all say low level threat. I press fix and it says my computer is now clean. Does that mean that I am completely infection free? Or does anything still linger around?
I have a lot of free space so I’m not sure why my computer is so slow. Someone please help me.

So when I bought my laptop i got kaperski anti virus version 7.0. Its time to renew and its giving me the option of the Anti Virus 2009 or the Internet security 2009.
What is better to use? I use the internet a lot for random things. Use hotmail email and check my back accounts and pay bills, what is going to give me the best protection?
