A few days ago I download a Collage Creator program from the internet. The next day, my computer was running horribly and had porn icons on my desktop. I uninstalled the program which I believe caused the problem. Whatever downloaded to my computer will not allow my virus scanners to run, I have AVG free edition (the most recent update available) and spyware software. AVG keeps saying inactive components. My question is, if I buy anti virus software, will the virus possibly let it run since it will be on my D drive? If so, what is the best anti-virus to buy?
First answer – that doesn’t help with anything…
P.S. I’ve tried restoring my computer or starting in safe mode, it won’t allow me to.

You needn’t to buy a antivirus software, because there is a plenty of anti-virus software available online, just like Avira AntiVir Personal – Free Antivirus and Avast! Home Edition – Free Antivirus.
Since you are having trouble running your AVG scan, we’ll try another way to rid you of this infection.
Download, install and update the FREE version of Malwarebytes.
If necessary, you can download this program and save it to another computer and transfer it via a flash drive to the "problem computer".
Once those steps are completed, unplug from the internet, restart your computer in safe mode and run a complete Malwarebytes scan. If items are found, follow the Malwarebytes suggested procedure. Tips about how to starts windows in safe mode:

You should run the Malwarebytes scan a few times to be sure it comes up clean.
The above procedure can also be performed using the FREE version of SuperAntiSpyware. Both programs are "on-demand" scanners and will not interfere with your Norton Product.
This next step is optional but recommended. Delete your System Restore Points by turning off System Restore. Many infections will become embedded in your previous restore points – therein lies the possibility that they may return. Also you may find that the malware has already erased your restore points.
Restart your computer in Normal Mode and check how things are working.
Once you are completely sure your computer is clean, you can turn ON System Restore.
AVG is fine. Don’t download stuff unless you trust it 100%.
AVG is the best there is. I’m sorry, but you’re gonna have to get your computer wiped. It’s crappy, I know, but if a virus can outdo AVG, it’s too much. It’ll have to be wiped by a professional.
Dont pay for anti-virus, it’s just a waste of money!!
Google for Avast, they have a free version which you can try.
I continually had virus problems until I got Norton Anitvirus 360. Haven’t had an issue since
