If I download limewire to an external hard drive and download all the songs and load it on the external hard drive, will it work or do I have to install limewire on my laptop. I just want a seperate hard drive so that if it gets virus infected, my laptop will be safe. Is this possible? Also tips and method using limewire to be virus free will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance !
Yes you can. I have an external hard drive that i take to work with me that has all my mp3′s and personal software on and i can run them off my external hard drive through the USB port. VERY HANDY! I highly recomend getting one if you have multiple comp’s or just want more storage space without upgrading your comp with a bigger HD.
P.S. You should have the exact same virus protection on your external hard drive as you do on the computer you are running it off of….. it is simply a storage device only, you still use the computers CPU to do all the computing!
You don need to buy an external hard drive to install Limewire… Well you have couple options here:
1. Buy an external USB Memory stick of say 2GB or higher and install Limewire there and save the songs to your Memory stick…
2. Use USB Memory stick to install limewire in it and save songs to your iPod/ iTunes etc…
3. Create a partition on your existing hard drive and install Limewire and all the songs in this partition. In other words, dedicate this new partition on your hard drive to install Limewire and songs…
