    SHORT VERSION:
1 Use another computer to download Malwarebytes from http://www.malwarebytes.org
2 Rename the downloaded file to something like HELP.exe
3 Transfer the renamed file to a thumb drive or CD.
4 Boot the infected computer to SAFEMODE
5 Install the renamed file from the flash drive or CD.
    6 Run the program.

    HTH!

You’re going to have to have a tech come look at it. Unfortunately you’ll probably end up needing your system wiped and reinstalled. Any decent tech should offer to back up your files if possible though.

Get a version of linux packaged with CLAM; then run the live CD, scan for virii with the included antivirus and clean up your stuff so you can launch your native OS. Then do more virii scanners.

Or you could just start over after you launch Unbuntu and back up your data. Before restoring your files though, make sure you scan them for virii.

    1. Restart Your computer
    2. Continuously press "F8"
    3. In the option list select "Safe Mode"
    4. Locate Your virus program and scan for viruses.
    5. When done restart your computer the way you normally would.

hi redondog, what is happening is that your virus protection is protecting your computer but what you have to do is to shut your system down and take your computer to a computer with all of the software that came with your computer to a computer repairman and he will format your hard drive and replace your drivers with new ones and it will be fixed. but your system is protecting your computer so shut your computer down so the virus will not destroy your computer. this is important so shut your computer off and take it to the repairman now. good luck hope i was helpful to you

disregard the former postings, as they are not completely necessary. no offense intended, please dont think there is.

now, i would first say that you should specifiy what anti-virus software, and spyware application/s you currently have. the answer to that may help your situation, or may corrupt your system even more. the answer is very key. plus, any screenshots or some form of note that tells us what is going on with your system, and what happens when you try to boot them up.

on a different note, there is one thing i find very "convenient" about this virus. it attacks your spyware and virus software directly… these are not so good, and can lead to a total system failure (considering only the software part of your computer). i would recommend that you first try booting up your computer in safe mode, then try to run your applications that way. if any problems persist, then i would say to then reboot into safe mode, and run the system restore to the date as early as possible that you can remember before this problem occured.

sorry for the run-on sentences, but i have scattered thoughts at times. so now, i want you to keep in mind that system restores will completely RESTORE your hard drive to what it was at the time and date specified, with the exception of the documents folder (which are nearly never affected due to their insignificance to the computer’s ability to run). so, use the system restore as a last resort, and in my opinion, never turn it off.

Use a flash drive in Safemode or make a bootable rescue disk (Avira makes a great free one.)
