Go to http://www.avast.com click on the free home version. I have used it now for 3 years and it has caught every virus or trojin or worm I have come across.

AVG and Avast are two good free antivirus programs; however, from my experience, once you have a nasty piece of garbage on your computer, sometimes nothing works and you have to do a hard drive format and start from scratch. Go to Trend Micro House Call and try to use their online scanner first- it’s been very useful in my past ordeals. Next, try to download and run either of the above two. If this is a trojan, try http://www.xblock.com and try out their free online scanner too.
