Personally you have a few options…
First if your going on a lot of not so safe websites and are worried about getting a virus the i woild go with one of the following…
1:trend micro antivirus: it has a good virus protection and will not slow down your computer (there website is http://us.trendmicro.com/us/home/ )
2.kaspersky: they have an amazing virus protection BUT it will slow down your computer
Its your call (there website is http://www.kaspersky.com/ )
OR
If your going to be safe on it and not download too much stuff on it and stay off bad websites the you could go for a free one.
The best free antivirus that i can think of is…
AVG: its free and here is a SAFE link from where you canread a description of it and download it—-> http://download.cnet.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10320142.html?tag=mncol;pop
OR
you can click this link and get straight to the download (sorry about the long link its the actuial download so i cant help it) ——-> http://dw.com.com/redir?edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3001-2239_4-10320142&ontId=2239_4&spi=a8b540d971df0240eeaa2dc8da7528e8&lop=txt&tag=idl2&pid=11119511&mfgId=10044820&merId=10044820&pguid=WbzCkwoPjFwAAC9m-uQAAAEg&destUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fsoftware-files-l.cnet.com%2Fs%2Fsoftware%2F11%2F11%2F95%2F11%2Favg_free_stb_all_9_40_cnet.exe%3Fe%3D1265397780%26h%3Dc7ed23a707b8097028fc2eca673f1c72%26lop%3Dlink%26ptype%3D1901%26ontid%3D2239%26siteId%3D4%26edId%3D3%26spi%3Da8b540d971df0240eeaa2dc8da7528e8%26pid%3D11119511%26psid%3D10320142%26fileName%3Davg_free_stb_all_9_40_cnet.exe
I now use Avast antivirus, Malwarebytes, and Privatefirewall all freeware all made for W7 and 64bit. I could not wait to uninstall Norton with their 60 day trial.
I use Avast , I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. I recently changed to Comodo firewall which seems fine and I seem to boot up quicker. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps
