Free SAFE Virus Scanner and Removal?
I’m looking for a good free virus scanner, and maybe even a AntiVirus software and Virus Remover. If you guys know of any REAL GOOD WORKING ones then please answer. This would really lep because as of right know my computer is being eaten by viruses and I’m helpless. THANKS(:
Over the summer I purchased a laptop cooler. This worked so good, the fan would stay off. About a month ago, I had a problem with my computer and brought it to my campus computer center. They said they found viruses and whatnot and fixed it. After I got it back the fan would constanly run. They deny they did anything. I hate that they are always on because I bring my laptop to class and its so noisy compared to everyone elses. The laptop is about 3 years old and it is a compaq. I tried to use air in a can but that didn’t help. Do any stores (Best Buy, Staples, etc.) clean the dust out of computers? If so how much does it run? Any other suggestions? Could tech help screwed up my computer?

EDIT: Did you notice the part that said I did use a can of air?
And they didn’t rip me off because I didn’t pay. It was free. I doubt they switched out my fan.

Hi i don’t know alot about computers and but bought a macbook today ive always had PC’s before this and was just wondering if im suppose to have anti virus for a mac or not,
I’ve used limewire before, but I just bought a new laptop and limewire doesn’t seem to want to download for some reason. So I was thinking of trying Frostwire. But since I heard that one is bad too for viruses and stuff, what SHOULD I use to download? I don’t want to pay for it though, I feel as if I’m out of options and should try installing Frostwire.
My computer is already infected with spyware, and trojans and what not. And these windows keep popping up telling me to buy the anti-spyware for my windows xp, but if i bought it.. would it take out the viruses out of my hard drive and everywhere else they might be..or would it just prevent more virus infections? are the ones online even legit? or should i just go out and buy nortons? I think im just going to go to a computer specialist so they can take them out, But i’m just curious because that way I wouldnt have to spend so much money.
By the way, ive already tried the "free" anti-virus things online like that superspyware thing, and the other ones people suggested. Someone told me they were free, and they were NOT.
As a young adolescent we all know we kind of do things and go on stuff we really shouldn’t go on. But we do anyways, to fulfill our "needs" if you know what I mean.
Anyways, thank God I use my very own computer and it is not shared, because tonight I got soooo much spyware and a bunch of other crap (viruses, malicious stuff) from sites that I do not want my parents to find. How can I remove this stuff (free of charge) completely so that it is not found? And also get rid of whatever is in my browser like Trojans and all that.
I use AVG Free and Ad Aware 2007 right now and AdAware removed like 133 traces, AVG just found one (scanning now.)
Thanks guys!
(I know I shouldn’t be on porn but it is very common among like every guy I know in my age range.)
Oh and how can I prevent spyware etc. from entering my system?
AVG ALWAYS tells me if there is a threat detected and it will remove it under my command.
I have virus threats on my pc, look fro free software. I download them then they scan my pc and wont fix anything until i pay for the product. Is there anything really FREE?
ok I just bought my laptop a few days ago. and then while I was in facebook, my browser(firefox) just redirected me to another site and then the site did like a virus scan on my laptop and it says that my laptop has a lot of viruses in it. I tried to cancel it but whenever i click "cancel" the site was recommending me to download something. I didn’t download it but I used my anti-virus (Avast!) to scan my hard drive but it didn’t find anything. So what do you guys think? Does my computer have a virus or it’s just nothing? It just started to do it yesterday and it happened again today. And it just redirected me to the website when I was in facebook(today and yesterday).
I think about avast professional but what do you guys think?
I got this virus on my computer. When ever I open the internet it blocks all the websites I go to because they want me to buy this anti virus software thing. So I can’t go on the internet to download a software that will delete it.
I have Mcafee Virus Scan, but I don’t know how to use it. Please help me.
i have hundreds of pictures in my old laptop, and i just bought a new laptop, and want to transfer my pictures to my new one, but the old laptop has viruses (i think), do you think some viruses can transfer with the pictures to my new laptop, even if the new one has antivirus? what about the music? or maybe the new laptop will notify me if some files are infected and i can stop the transfering? im using a 4 gb transfer little pocket thing…
my friend have some Trojan.Pizload.B in his computer and its lots of problem.any one suggest me how can he remove this trojan
Because I don’t want to waste my money every year just to buy Norton or Spyware stuffs. I’m looking for a free and can use forever without warrant amd I don’t want a trial version.
If you help me, I would really appreciate it! ^ ^
i downloaded a file from limewire and i have gotten a very bad Trojan virus, along with spy ware and malware, i need to know how to remove them, thanks
ok i have avast anti virus so can you please tell me how to remove a virus using that program or remove a virus without using aprogram or another free program would be great
thanks
I bought a used laptop running XP. When I first got it it was logging on fine, it didn’t ask me for the password even though I was using the old user’s setting.
But then a bunch of crap started to happen… like it wasn’t loading my personal settings. To get to the desktop I had to press Ctrl/Alt/Del then Run task and run explorer or something to get into windows and to have my setting loaded.
I started to think it was a virus so I tried to run a scan but some files were corrupted in the program. Then I downloaded a free virus scanner and tried to install it then it said something was wrong with windows installer, so I downloaded a new installer and installed the virus scanner. I had over 700 infected files. they put in quaranteen, then they said to restart. I couldn’t restart because the start icon disappeared and CAD was not working so I held down the power button for five seconds. Then I turned it back on. Now it’s asking for a password. WHY? Is there any way around
I’m using Macbook Pro with Macword. I received an alert from Microsoft that my comp has viruses and led me to download (and buy) and anti-virus software. Isn’t it that Mac is virus free? Please advise.

what do you think????
I am looking to use this computer for school and games that require higher graphics settings…will this be sufficient enough?
and is 2GB of RAM pretty good or not good ennough?
Have a cable modem attached to a wireless router. Connected to the router are a wired desktop and a wireless laptop.
The wireless laptop is infected with spyware and/or viruses.
When I tried downloading anti-spyware programs, IE failed because that very spyware is preventing the download (ie does the usual "buy me" crap).
I went onto the desktop to download the software and now that doesn’t have internet connectivity.
Tried resetting the modem and router but to no avail.
Tried to update the router firware (from the desktop interface) and the router claims that there is no connectivity even though the modem indicates there is (blinking lights are all good).
Any ideas?
