Can someone tell me, pls? I’m trying to buy an antivirus software for my new laptop but I’m totally spoilt by choices. Tell me the software of your choice and why.
P/S: ESET, Norton, Kaspersky, Avira and Dr.Web, are they effective?
I have Sony Vaio GRZ530 laptop
I bought it used and reinstalled fresh copy of windows but it runs way too slow… lags a lot and even when i go on youtube most of the time video pauses and lags.
Pentium 4
2.40Ghz
596 MHZ
512 MB Ram
1: Well there is NO mallware, addware or virus.. I scanned it using Kaspersky and mallwarebytes.
2: I do use Registry Mechanic time to time so no issue there.
My previous Celeron laptop with 512 Mb memory used to work much much faster then this P4
I can see explorar.exe using most of the memory most of the time
Sometimes svchost.exe uses all the memory
Even if i use google Chore.. well laptop still runs slow…

how do i remove a virus and spyware for free
So, what is the name of a good anti-virus and spyware program ? Can I buy one tool that does both ?
I do not have a credit card and so cannot purchase a removal programme, is there a free download that actually removes the virus instead of just scanning for it? Can I remove the virus manually?
I need a virus removal program that will work with Nokia 3660. The programs that I have installed does not execute.
Or is this just a ploy the software companies use to get you to spend more money.
please help me out. the way or the antivirus must hit at the bull’s eye. plz. i’m in a great trouble.
The virus is keeping me from going online. When I try to log on to the internet it says it detects no phone line, which is not true, so I tried to do a system restore but the virus doesn’t let me do that now also. I’m not sure what to do, do I to have to take it somewhere to get the virus out, or is there a way around this?
Long story short (and I won’t give you a sob story) I bought a few years old tablet-pc (laptop w/ stylus and turning screen) so I can take notes in class. I’m in highschool, taking (literally) the hardest classes available in the US. If you don’t know what the IB program is, Google it. I’m a senior IB Diploma student, and again Google that if you aren’t familiar with the International Baccalaureate program.
Anyway, sorry to draw that out but I bought this laptop, used it to take notes as a tablet pc and that worked great. Now it died and it’s going to cost me more than I paid to fix it.
Does anyone have a laptop they don’t need anymore? I can pay shipping, etc, whatever’s needed but I just don’t have any money to purchase another computer.
Believe me when I say this: I’m not picky at all. Also I can re-install Windows or remove a virus or something if it needs something like that.
If you think you can help at all please do let me know.

I don’t know how to prove it’s not a scam. I mean, anything that anyone would give me isn’t probably gonna be worth selling now is it?
Now I know how the internet works and I suppose I should have expected this…regarding a job, has anyone here taken a look at the job market??
Believe me or don’t, I’ve looked for a job. I took economics last year; the economy is a pretty bad shape right now. Otherwise I think I would have a job and have bought a working computer by now.

If you find this offensive I’m sorry. I’ll see about pulling the question. I was just trying to see if, as people regularly upgrade their laptops, anyone had one they didn’t want anymore…possibly sitting in a closet or the like.

Hi I’m going to be buying a dell inspiron laptop and i was just wondering what a good firewall spy ware and virus protection would be a good one to purchase that would give full protection so my computer doesn’t get ruined I’m not to picky about price i would rather pay for something and have it work than having to buy a hole new laptop! please help

hi, i have two questions and one is
ive had the HP pavillion zv6000 for about 4 years
how much longer do you think my laptop will last if ive only been using it at home and dropped it about 4ish times?
it hasnt had a serious virus or anything
but i just wanted to know how much longer until i would have to buy another one

i have this constant pop up from the Security Center Alert about a program/software/virus named win32.zafi.b
and when i click enable protection, it pops up a page where i can download some type of protection
what is it and how can i get rid of it?

So i just bought a laptop for my computer and i wanted to know is there any way (tricks, downloads, help?) that i can keep it after the 60 day trials?
I really want to keep using this version of office because my home computer had it already installed on it and there’s no CD to use to put it on my laptop.
As for the antivirus, it’ll help keep those pesky ad aware and spyware viruses gone

It’s hardly hit by many viruses slowing down my laptop, i’ve tried to download free anti viruses and spyware, but at the end, the software can only let me know that my laptop has infected. When it comes to remove, they asked payment. Anyway, any free removal in the internet? Please help, thanks.

tired… all the softwares that you all suggested can only identify viruses and spyware. Not to REMOVE it, guys.
I definitely think they do to help get people to buy their products. After all it is a very rampant and a million dollar business. Do you think even Norton makes virus and spyware to effect people with?
I recently ran virus scan and it detected 2 files infected with the Trojan virus called "New Malware". I deleted the 2 files, yet my computer continues to alert my that it is infected. Also, on my task manager it shows IEXPLORE.EXE running but Internet Explorer is not running, and eventually it will start playing music and advertisments until I "end" the process, but it comes back 5 minutes later. Any tips on how to remove this virus from my computer?
And without rebooting and reinstalling everything.

I possibly might take my laptop to school. It would be used for papers and research (ms office). Also I like watching videos and doing social networking. I need maybe 8GB for music storage (media players). Maybe storage for 100 photos a year (photo editing software). I typically like adding a few games as well. I’d like to stick with Microsoft OS. Of course printers and virus software, and then some room for anything else I might want later. I want speed and durability, and of course not to go broke buying the thing.
Anything else you need to know?

actually when i m opening my yahoo messenger the file naming ganda nakaktawa avi its transfering itself to the contacts which has been added to my messenger list so i would like to clean this virus from my pc .
