My computer is running very slowly. So I just want to be sure there are no viruses on it and if there is i want to be able to remove it without being forced to pay for it.
I was trying to download the driver for my scanner and I must have gone to a bad site. Now when I start up there is a shortcut for freeprodtb on my desktop. Its causing a ridiculous amount fo pop-ups even when I’m not online!!! It’s driving me nuts. I ran AOL spyware and it didn’t remove it and I bought eTrust Pest Patrol program, yet this thing will not go away! Help Please!!!!!!!!!!!
My computer keeps warning me that i have infected files on it and i want to buy anti virus software to protect it. How do I do it and what are the best types of software?
I bought a new laptop from best-buy 2 months back. The laptop came with 60 days free anti-virus from norton anti-virus. I just had my subscription expired a day back. Should i continue with norton or are there any other cheap but better anti-virus out there in the market.

i bought defender, and heard all bad things about it, SO what is the best one to get and put into my pc? i also heard bad things about norton so im at a loss as to what to buy!
I don’t have alot of money to pay for the big companies subscription based antivirus software so I’m looking for the best I can get freeware or otherwise. Prevx worked well but I used up the 30 day trial. Also have spybot but that’s not doing so well either. Any other suggestions?
I bought a used laptop that didn’t have any virus protection, and I looked online to try to find something which was free. The software did the exact opposite of what it was intended for. Plus, I’ve used the restore option like 5 times in two days. I tried loading Mc Afee Suite but my computer just freeze up. I’m not a computer whiz, so if they can be stated in caveman terms i will be much obliged.
Cant Remove Spyware/Virus Used Adware ,Mcafee, Avg ,Spybot SD. I ran them all in safe mode as well. I keep getting a pop up. What should I try next. I run Vista.

Yea sure…I couldn’t even get on internet explorer or my email accounts. My husband had to erase everything except my emails and bookmarks—everything else-gone! Is there another way of doing this without having to go to so much trouble? Now my daughter is having the same problem. People need to be aware that these ads are sneaked in on other websites and people just don’t notice them.

I have a free program installed on my computer to search for all the spyware and I want a program that will remove it and I also want a program to protect my computer. Would it be safe to install a program to remove my spyware if I already have spyware on my computer? If not, what should I do to get rid of it that I can do at home? Also, what anti-virus program should I get? I want one that has anti-virus protection, spyware protection, etc.

I bought a new HP laptop with pre installed anti virus of Norton for 2 months.
My bro has a Norton Anti virus CD which he has used on his laptop, Can /& Should I use that CD on my laptop before the 2 months end.

Is there a program that can do much more than scan, I mean remove the menacing spyware program? All these free softwares only scan, then prompt you to pay. The menacing crest that flashes on the taskbar is frustrating, I need to get it off totally. Someone out there please help!
I have avast antivirus software I scan my pc through it. At last i got result that Antivirus software Avast cant remove Polymorph virus code from pc. and also report me that avast cant scan too many files which has Polymorph virus code in it in my pc. what i do now ? This is 1st time happend.
I have this personal anti-virus thing that keeps telling me I have a virus on my laptop. however when I do a full scan on my laptop using Norton anti-virus and Microsoft anti-virus it tells me no virus are found. So is this a Fake program meant to scare me into buying something that I don’t need.
